The initial situation

Our client is a big name in the field of cybersecurity and offers solutions in the B2B sector. Our client was looking for channels to generate leads. This was to be achieved by providing added-value information for the target group and offering a free e-book with further solutions. As technology is one of our main areas of focus at BASIC thinking, we had a good target group fit here.

From our years of experience with hundreds of customers and thousands of campaigns, we knew that we had to design this advertorial campaign differently to B2C advertorials. It was important to us that our client used our advertorial to target the important keywords on Google so that they could meet their customers where they are in the buying process: When searching for helpful information and solutions to a problem they will soon face due to a new law.

What have we done?

Finally, we referred to the client’s website, where our readers could download a free e-book from the client. This enabled our client to collect relevant leads.

In this way, we picked up the customers in their customer journey exactly where they needed help and strengthened our customer’s expertise (expert status). All of this was achieved both directly in our magazine with the advertorial, but above all sustainably by filling the relevant keywords on Google, Bing and Co.
